Hi Scott, just had a chance to complete this drawing today, 3 weeks later!
Stonehenge, 250GSM, 11×14.
Thank you for another challenging subject!
Makes me want to go for a visit. Thank you.
Hi Scott. Loved the video! For someone who’s merely got no prior experience in shading and sketching, would you recommend this Masterpiece – Tunnel View at Yosemite? I’m a big fan of Yosemite and want to have a go at this! Thanks for the detailed video…
this was fun
Better scanning
Here comes my contribution. Sorry, but my scanned image is really poor…
Hi!Here is my landscape!Thank you Scott for this amazing experience!
These look great, Brenda! I like seeing your emphasis on value relationships vs line. In the landscape, you might try pushing the values in the foreground a bit farther, establishing darker darks, and separating them from the middle ground a bit farther. The portrait looks wonderful! I love the emphasis on the glasses. I also like the lost edges along the left side. Perhaps there could be a bit more separation of the nose?
Great job with this! Thank you for sharing your experiences with the materials.
Beautiful work here!
Thank you! This looks great. Nice variety of tones you were able to achieve!
Beautiful work with this!
Thank you for sharing this. Keep at it!
This looks great!
I’m sorry Scott, I made a mistake while uploading.
Kind regards Pia
Oh my boy, was that a challenge!
I wanted to tear up the sketch umpteen times. I have never drawn with pens before. Quite dissatisfied, I leave it that way and will continue to draw with the pens.
Kind regards Pia
Dear Scott
I really enjoyed drawing the cheetah. It’s great to work with such different materials. That’s how I learn a lot. The chair with the pens was also a big challenge. (I still uploaded my sketch.) Then I bought a book by Arthur L. Guptill about this technique. It’s very interesting and motivating.
Kind regards
Pia
Hello Scott,
unfortunately I had no gray paper. So I had to draw everything with graphite pencils on white paper. Incidentally, it gives me a lot of pleasure to be able to take part in your excellent lessons. Now I’m holding the pencil as you showed it.
Thanks again
Pia
I used a very tooth old paper my mom left me….don’t know what it is. I just love Yosemite and wish it were closer. Every time I go there is mist in The Valley and settling into the trees. This is a nice study for trying it in watercolor.
.
Once again a lot of discoveries for me in this drawing together. I found it not so easy to work with white charcoal. The Strathmore tone blue mixed media paper I used was also a challenge: very slippery I felt that I had no grip. Anyway I had a lot of fun! Thank you Scott ☺️
Not good at landscapes at all, but here’s Yosemite… Thanks again, Scott!
Landscapes are a big challenge for me. I’m way into portraits! But here’s Yosemite. Also, I’d love your critique on the portrait + landscape I’m attaching. Thanks, Scott. You rock!
