  1. I’m happy for the lesson on drawing a tree. This is my second try and I listened to the video again as I was drawing. I used Buff Somerset paper, and quickly wished I had picked the white paper. I agree that the paper’s tooth is nice to suggest leaves. The drawing is in graphite with a few pastel highlights (very light yellow). The graphite is more red in the scan, however there is a reddish tinge in the original.

    I enjoyed thinking of this as a spring tree – a few less leaves at the top, a sheepherder with a jacket and hat, and very green grass.
