Thank you for another informative episode! It really took me a while, but I’m happy with the result.
Very nice!
Someone in the chat suggested a monster so my tree turned into this. Oh well.
Hi, Scott, trying this as an experiment in uploading…been having a rough time with that. So yes, this is a quick sketch, done with vine charcoal.
Nice! I love the looseness of this sketch!
Finished the tree. It’s charcoal and graphite mostly HB pencil.
Wonderful!
More challenge than I expected. 3rd time.
Great! I love the vertical format.
I’m happy for the lesson on drawing a tree. This is my second try and I listened to the video again as I was drawing. I used Buff Somerset paper, and quickly wished I had picked the white paper. I agree that the paper’s tooth is nice to suggest leaves. The drawing is in graphite with a few pastel highlights (very light yellow). The graphite is more red in the scan, however there is a reddish tinge in the original.
I enjoyed thinking of this as a spring tree – a few less leaves at the top, a sheepherder with a jacket and hat, and very green grass.
Nice work!
Here’s my tree. Great fun with a little bit of frustration mixed in lol. Thanks for the challenge as always Scott!
Hello Scott,
I used charcoal powder for this portrait. It was a new challenge, but I really enjoyed it.
See you soon Pia
My tree came out awful, so I decided to fool around with color pencil and ink! Thanks, Scott!
Great tree. Fun to draw.
