Thanks for another great episode!
this was fungi !
Hi Scott, I have just finished my mushroom, one of my beloved subject. I also forage mushrooms in the late summer and fall. You have selected a gorgeous pictures, with so much ethereal beauty, I often observe myself in real life. So here is my mushroom. Urszula
Added some color in hopes of making the highlights pop out more.
Mushroom in charcoal. Enjoyed this one. Thanks Scott.
I think I’m finished.
Needs more work but this Is what it looks like right now.
The mushroom was interesting. I used the tan (fawn) Legion Stonehenge paper. The Tombow sanded eraser worked best to remove most of the charcoal, and did not damage the the relatively smooth 100% cotton paper. I like the range of values in the drawing. As always this was a very helpful lesson.
A simple form is so difficult to draw! It was a good exercise and challenge.
Hi Scott,
here is my mushroom. I’m sorry for taking up so much space when uploading. It usually just doesn’t work the first time.
Kind regards Pia

Hi Scott,
I never know when to upload my sketches. Because I’m happy about every criticism in order to learn from it.
Kind regards, Pia
Scott, thanks for these drawing session. I used Mi-Teintes Pastel paper for this sketch and it was definitely a fun and different kind of surface to work with..
Great lesson – thanks! ?
Drew mostly in vine charcoal. Loved how dark it got after drawing and rubbing over and over.
Surprisingly interesting to draw

This was a great introduction to charcoal for me, I really enjoyed it! Thank you!
