Although this drawing is not generally what is going on in this Draw Along, I sort of like this and may leave it as is.
Paying attention to the tip of not exactly copying the image doing this from the inspiration of what I see.
Good afternoon Scott, I am taking the chicken route here smh. I watched the complicated drawing this past Wednesday and decided I need more practice. So, I have tried my hand at the leaf. Can you please offer some advice? I also would like to know the brand of white chalk pencil you use because regular chalk doesn’t provide me the same outcome you achieved. Thank you again for a great tutorial. Hopefully, I’ll see you all on this Wednesday for Part 2 It’s Complicated.

Loved doing the leaf! Finally posted!
I finally got around to doing the leaf! I enjoyed this one! Though I wasn’t too sure about how it would turn out during the “ugly duckling stage”. Deciding where to add shading in the background and where not to add it was challenging for me when the photo was all light blue sky behind the leaf. I didn’t pay super-close attention to getting all the leaf points accurate, but as long as it looks like a leaf… ?.
My leaf in graphite.
Finally finished my aspen leaf. I love drawing from nature. Thank you, Scott!
This is one of my favorite lessons. Thanks, Scott!
I just had white paper so getting the tonal variations was. . . . . . . challenging. BUT, I learned a lot, so thank you for all the specific tips and pointers, especially regarding 3edges.

I’m so glad to hear it! This looks great. Thanks for sharing your work!
This one too! Really nice value range
Nice work here, Cindy!
This looks great! I’m glad the tips helped!
That’s great to hear! Nice work!
Absolutely loved drawing the fall leaf!
Thanks Scott for this lesson. I have always had a hard time drawing a leaf. Your tips on comparing point locations and modifying the contour line as you go was very helpful. I still feel the tips of my leaf are not quite realistic, so need some help on that.
Another oldie
Oldie, but still like it
Loving these sessions!
This was my first time trying anything like this. SO much to learn. So fun!
Thanks Scott for another great session. I could of kept going on the detail but decided to stop instead of being too detailed (one of my many faults). Ebony pencil, white chalk on grey paper.
Needs more detail work. But it was fun to draw.
The first drawing I am sharing is this leaf. I really enjoyed it, although I did trace the outline of the leaf in order to get the proportions correct.:) I hope it looks okay. Thanks so much, Scott!:)
Enjoyed this leaf and I could keep going, but feel it is starting to get muddy. Scott your leaf is amazing, it is floating to the ground.
Love the fall! Thanks, Scott for this particular instruction.
Such fun!

Enjoyed this one. We don’t get the colors like this in Katy, Texas. Made me miss the Northeast where I grew up.
Thanks Scott
Just finished this after work. Such an interesting challenge–had to keep picking away to get better tonal values.
Loved this one! It was difficult but very rewarding.
