I know it’s late in the game but wanted to watch and try this. I’m pleased
Very nice!
This was done long after the lesson. That is, September 19. I really enjoyed the superb teaching in this lesson so thank you to Scott Maier. I don’t know if I’ve done this right so my sketch may or may not appear.
Miss you all but glad I still can watch and sketch along. Love all the expressions lately.
My Older Eyes
I enjoyed this. Like doing portraits, humans and pets
Sorry, went in upside down.
I love everyone’s eyes drawing, they show so much character and feeling. I think mine (the eyes) came out a little too far apart. I enjoyed this assignment. Thanks Scott.
Thanks for another great Session of Drawing Together. Seeing as though I have never drawn before these lessons it was the first time I have ever drawn eyes….. was a challenge but thoroughly enjoyable. Used my new Prismacolour ebony pencil and somehow was easier than a 4B pencil. I rather like my result of the Older Mans Eyes :-).
This was really fun. I enjoy drawing faces and especially eyes you can see so much in them.
My first time ever drawing eyes. Thank you, Scott!
I loved this class; I enjoy drawing people because it’s such a challenge to capture their emotions! I think my man is a little more sad than the reference photo… sorry older gentleman! I also felt it was “unfinished” without doing the whole face, and I didn’t quite know what to do with the nose and cheeks, but I cropped it as best I could to just show the eyes.

Summer cycling called so I dropped all my pencils early July.
Really enjoyed jumping back into this sketch after a week long vacation trek.
My start was delayed due to technical difficulties so I used your sandpaper the graphite method to put down the base. I think this worked very well but I was negative drawing a lot with the kneaded erasure. I found the eyes a bit spooky so I added a mask and topped him off. I’m doing the whole family in masks and getting lots of hair and eye practice.
I loved doing this one-portraits are my favorite! Actually finished within the lesson time for once. Lol. I “cheated” and used charcoal on charcoal paper because it works so much better with blending and values for me-and I just enjoy it more. The crazy Ungroomed brows were really fun!!
Try an electric eraser for highlights.
Loved doing these older eyes! Looking forward to doing the child’s! Thank you, Scott. You rock!
I LOVE drawing eyes. Lenox cotton paper (a new find, I really like it), Tombow Mono graphite pencils, white pastel pencil. Really enjoyed this one!
Always enjoy drawing faces
