Surface

  • Rives BFK paper in white 280 gsm (or other paper that accepts water)

Acrylics (Debora uses GOLDEN brand)

  • HBlack
  • Cadmium Red Medium Hue

Brushes

  • Several flat synthetic brushes (for underpainting and dissolving pigment)
  • 2-inch, long house painting brush or foam brush (for acrylic ground application)

Pastels (Debora uses Unison brand)

  • Variety of hard and soft pastels
  • Variety of warm and cool colors, and neutrals
  • Variety of values (dark, medium and light for each color)
  • Full Demo: red and orange hard pastels, range of red and orange soft pastels (variety of value and temperature), range of neutral green soft pastels (variety of value and temperature), as well as soft pastels in creams for lights and blue violets for shadows

Other

  • Water containers
  • Paper towels
  • Charcoal (vine and compressed)
  • Newsprint (or other scrap paper)
  • Acrylic Ground for Pastels (Debora uses GOLDEN brand)
  • Styrofoam plates, small plastic palette knife (for pastel acrylic ground)
  • Color wheel (optional)
  • Hairdryer (optional)
  • Rubbing alcohol (and container for application)
